Throughout the summer we have been releasing lists of what will be taking place during each month. Although back to school season is upon us, it does not mean that summer is completely over. The city still has many different events taking place throughout the month of August, so if you are looking for something to do, look no further because we have you covered.
Every summer for the last 28 years the Montreal Repercussion Theatre has been putting on Shakespeare in the park. This year they will be performing Much Ado About Nothing, in parks all over Montreal. Each of the performances takes place in a different park in the city so there is sure to be one near you. Bonus: It’s free!!!
On August third head down to the L'Art de Vivre on Boulevard Saint-Laurent for a free one hour mind and meditation workshop, which teaches you how meditation can change your way of life.
It’s that time again for Canada’s best music festival! Unlike the majority of the events we have mentioned throughout the summer this one costs a pretty penny, with tickets beginning at $320, but for that price you get access to all three days of the event which will include over 130 performances including ones by Tove Lo, Lorde, Solange Knowles and Tegan and Sara.
Head down to Little Italy during Italian Week! The festivities, which are mostly free, include events like The Italian Film Festival, a Cannoli Contest, and a performance by Marco Calliari.
The Rogers Cup tennis tournament will be taking place at the Uniprix Stadium in Montreal. If you are a fan of tennis you do not want to miss this! Tickets start at $10 a day.
On August 5th RuptureTV will be hosting our pre-launch party! Head down to Jet Nightclub to support all of the work we have been doing throughout the summer.
The final fireworks show of this year’s international festival will be taking place on August 5th. Head to the old port, La Ronde, the lookout on Mount Royal, Jacques Cartier Bridge or anywhere else in the city where you can see the fireworks, and experience the final show of the season.
Enjoy DJs on the Skyline Rooftop during Summer Seventeen. Tickets range from $15 to $20 and you don’t want to miss it!
If you are an Anime lover you do not want to miss out on Otakuthon, which is the largest Anime convention in Quebec! Tickets are only available at the door, unless you participated in the pre-order, and range from $40 for a day pass to $60 for a weekend pass.
August 8th and 9th - Coldplay Concert
Coldplay will be performing two concerts at the Bell Center, if you are a fan you do not want to miss this!
Have you been wanting to get into yoga or are already a fan? Then head over to Jardins Gamelin for their free yoga class on August 9th!
Another festival that is taking place this month is Ile Soniq. The festival will host nearly 50 performers and tickets start at $190 for the entire weekend.
August 11th - OneRepublic Concert
OneRepublic fans will not want to miss out on their August 11th concert at the Bell Center!!
August 12th - Keith Urban Concert
Country fans rejoice because Keith Urban will be at the Bell Center on August 12th!
Montreal hosts a number of cultural festivals, and Matsuri Japon is one of them! This Japenese Festival will include face painting, origami, different Karate workshops and much more.
Head to Beach Club on August 12th for the second annual Boxing Festival on the Beach. Tickets start at $20 for children ($25 for adults) and go all the way to $1,300 (group price)
August 14th - Shawn Mendes Concert
Shawn Mendes fans will not want to miss out on his Bell Center performance on August 14th.
Head down to St-Hubert Street during their annual Back to School Sidewalk Sale! There will be amazing discounts on clothes, school supplies, and anything else you may want or need that is sold at the St-Hubert Plaza.
Head down to the old port for the 14th annual Reggae festival! The event will host performers and many different events throughout the weekend. Ticket prices range from $35 to $250 depending on day and if you want the VIP package.
Montreal will once again be hosting their Pride Parade on August 20th! The parade starts at noon on the corner of Drummond Street!
The event, which is perfect for any fashionista, will be taking place in downtown Montreal and will have 50+ free events for festival goers to attend.
August 24th - Kendrick Lamar Concert
Kendrick Lamar will be performing at the Bell Center on August 24th!
The festival is a worldwide competition, meaning filmmakers come from all over to submit their work to potentially win one of the many awards that are available. Awards include Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay and many more. Tickets range from $12, for one day passes, to $750, for prestige membership passes.
August 29th and 30th - Bruno Mars Concert
Bruno Mars will be performing two concerts at the Bell Center, which will be a great way for Bruno fans to end their summer!
